# rate_limit_exceeded

> Too many requests were sent.

The client sent too many requests in too short a time.

> The Nova API doesn't return this code today. It is reserved so clients can
> handle it when it does.

## How to fix

Wait the number of seconds in the `Retry-After` header, then retry.

This response isn't stored for an `Idempotency-Key`, so a retry with the same
key runs the operation again.
