# ZonedDateTime

> An ISO 8601 Date and time

Unless specified directly, the timezone is provided by a
[`TimeZone`](https://docs.nova.net/types/time-zone) field on the same object.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Omit the offset to give wall-clock time in that zone, or include the zone's
> exact UTC offset at that date, accounting for daylight saving.

## Examples

With a timezone of `America/Los_Angeles`

**In responses** the value always includes the zone's offset at that date
e.g. `2026-09-09T09:00:00-07:00`.

| Value | Interpreted as |
| - | - |
| `2026-09-09T09:00` | `09:00 Sep 9, 2026 PDT` |
| `2026-09-09T09:00:00-07:00` | `09:00 Sep 9, 2026 PDT` |
| `2026-12-09T09:00:00-08:00` | `9:00 Dec 9, 2026 PST` |
| `2026-12-09T09:00:00-07:00` | `Rejected` (December is standard time (-08:00 not -07:00)) |
| `2026-09-09T16:00:00Z` | `Rejected` (Z is only valid for the timezone 'UTC') |
